The South Dakota Beef Industry Council recently named Jon Dilworth as their new executive director.

While at the South Dakota State Fair, Dilworth said the first three weeks on the job have been filled with making connections and planning for the year ahead.

“It’s been great connecting with farmers and ranchers,” Dilworth said. “And then of course our consumers here at the fair and other events that we’ve been doing.”

He also said he’s looking forward to the annual board meeting being held in Pierre on September 15th.

“We got a couple speakers from USMEF [United States Meat Export Federation] coming in and talking about our exports,” Dilworth said. “And what we’re doing overseas to help increase the demand for beef here throughout the state and country.”
